Back to my Old School in Delhi

(Informal visit as 5 years has gone already since I left)

Mann Public School, New Delhi.
One of the most important period of my life was spent.
I shot this in 2013, the first time i visited since 2008 when I left this school.

How can I resist a journey to the place where I spent my teenage years young, wild and free?

It was a morning, same like the morning of yesterdays. Nevertheless, the sound of birds near our hotel, the vehicles passing and the air that I breath in wasn't the same at all.

They added something on me which I didn't understand. Excited, awakened and enthusiastic - what is gonna happen next. I extend my thanks to Zotea, Vantei Coolgirl and Duat Duati, closest friends during tour and also in College who were keen to follow me for an informal visit and glance, to my old old school.

L-R - Zotea, Duat Duati & Vantei Coolgirl
Sorry I could have crop nearer but won't though they are beautiful because
I want to give more space to show this magnificent centre.
This place where they stand is part of  "Centre for performing arts"
constructed during our days here.

Securities in "stand as it is" as if I told them to be so before
I got it captured.
'Un luk khut ka marzi hai, meri nahi' :)
Yes I had seen this place, been in this place before! They are the one the first shown when entered - Securities, Karamcharis... I can see the same faces by my eyes. And yet I far moved a bit... drivers especially Jagdeep who use to drop me early before dawn in airport. And the next comes formal people with formal dress...whom admired by me.

Second from left is Jagdeep, whom I mentioned he used to drop me, waking me up at dawn for catching up my flight.
I am happy to see them that they still work faithfully for the betterment of M.P.S....Salute!!

Sir Devender

Flashback of unforgettable memories, full of nostalgic feelings while the saddest song, sung by no one but the charm melancholy within. Those dear ones familiar too me - my dear friends, classmates, juniors and seniors where they're off to. Will one day ever arrive like the moment we laugh and share things together. I missed them seriously, studies is excluded from those things i miss back in my life here. Football life, marvelous moment with great footballers like Tana Pelin, Shyam Sunder, Kamson, Kunal Kataria, Kamin etc...has become an image that we will praise and remembered forever.

Sir Sati
Respected Sir Sati(Teacher and former our House master; now promoted to higher position) and Sir
Devender (accountant whom I had had met often) said, "Hello Reuben Lalmalsawma" after so many years students had come and go! About this is my story I first gave even when I return back home on my informal visit, how on earth they still knew my full name.

Sir Sati took me to Sir Joginder, Director of Mann Public School.
Tall, smart, fit & healthy  are the few qualities of Sir Jogindar. He still remembers my name even when 5 years has gone. I didn't deserve but gave a most friendly welcome, back to my old school
We chatted for a short while. I was asked about my studies, I told I am pursuing English(B.A), the result was waited during that time. He told me my subject were the same as his. He took my I.D before I left him.
When I joined my Masters here in Mizoram later, I was lucky to get invited to shoot his recently constructed resort 'Flag House' in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. And that I also could spend my vacation there, but I had to refused as classes has been already got to begin here. Being my first invitation as a photographer, to have shooting opportunity in far off place outside North-East, not only outside Mizoram. Maybe I won't regret later to put my studies in first priority, I still accept that it was a great miss of chance, as I am fond of travelling too. And our dialogue was like:-

Hi Reuben,

By the way, I am having still, campus news and annual magazines of MPS, from which I have learned that it provides well content and writings like that we see of better College and Universities. I want to be so lately congratulate for those delicious publications. I often visit MPS websites and go through campus news till today. I am proud of being an ex student of MPS, Long live MPS.
Thanks Reuben for your mail. Do catch up some time whenever you are in Delhi next. Take care till then & god bless. (From Sir Joginder)

Much time could not be spent around as I am accompanied by friends and also waited by vehicle which I should taken care. One of our close worker leaded us upstairs to library to meet Sir Khairuddin. I used to frequently took my stairs, as our class was there but this time only I discover the beauty of that tree appearing shown in the picture. I can't helped to take one shot at least.

One of our close worker leaded me upstairs to library to meet Khairuddin Sir.

During our times till now, he serve as Librarian and House Master of my old house, Dayanand. Sir Khairuddin.

So, my tight scheduled visit is almost all over now. I can't express how much I'd love to see; Sir Madhukar, our Geography Teacher who was an inspiration, smart, intelligent and encyclopedia of Geography....for us :) Sir Manoj, also Mess Manager in our days, but how I remembered more as a Football coach, whom I had received training for three years.

I shall show some of my photographs, well, time was too extra heavy tight, but when I thought and thought that staying too long will give me enough of staying here again, I might not have miss as I do, like today. God be with you MPS, till we meet again. Even if I am alone, I will always be with your memories.

I still remember, playing with two seniors and Sir Joginder on my first day.
There are 6 basketball court falling in 3 locations. this is one of them, you can also play lawn Tennis. The construction was finished on 2008 just before we left.

The rules were taking indent sign from our House Master. Borrow items from TUCK SHOP....And on Sunday particular, we can call free of cost to parents from TUCK SHOP.

Sir Paul, English Teacher whom I admire, I was unlucky he didn't took our class.
I had read his articles in Newsletters and Magazines, he is the one fluent in English

A part of our Library. I use to sit everyday with my friends. Honestly, it won't be harm for now to say that many a times, it was a place of escape for us when we are not done with our assignments or too lazy to set our buttock on the bench.
