(Visited at his office on 4th April 2014 by Mass Communication Dept. Mizoram University)

To be successful in life, you need to work whole heartedly and give your full attention to your work. Many of the successful people did to become what they are today. One of them is K.Sapdanga, the owner of Vanglaini Daily. The largest circulator of newspaper in Mizoram. The students of Mass Communication deptt, 2nd Semester visited the office of Vanglaini on 4th April 2014.

He talked about how he started his business. Starting his profession, in the field of media as a journalist. He first worked as a Joint Editor in Zoeng Weekly. After two years of experience. He started his own business and published Vanglaini in 1984. He was the editor from the beginning till date. In the beginning,  700 copies were Circulated. It was the first newspaper to be distributed in the morning. The only morning newspaper at that time. Its circulation increased to 1,500 copies after two months. The workers had little experience and had to stay up all night to bring up a newspaper the every day. He even mentioned the crisis that happen to them after writing a report about a corrupt officer. They got a legal notice that stop them from publishing the newspaper. After giving an apology letter to the government, they are allowed to continue. The demand increased after the legal notice and in 1985 had reached to 4,400 copies. They stuck on circulating 5,000 copies for a long period of time, but increased yearly.

They started using computer and the size was increased to broadsheet. The circulation also reached to 20,000 copies by December 2001. They began publishing 10 pages in which two pages are in colour. And in 2013, they had a new machine equipped with high speed printing which can print 12 pages in which 4 pages are in colour. After the 12 pages publication, the circulation reached to 46,000 copies. Circulation increased monthly. It had reached Lunglei and Saiha. Vanglaini have also started going online. Full newspaper can be subscribe online paying Rs 100. They update news in the evening. Their theme is to respect each other's freedom and share their ideas and opinions. Never compare yourself with others but look back on what you did and compare it to yourselves. There should be an improvement in the work of today.

He also told the students that they are the future media professionals of Mizoram. And that in about five years, all the working journalists will have a degree in media field. He also told that one should not look for a job, instead make his own job. Even if you have to work for people superior than you. You have to work hard so that you can stand on your own feet in the future. We are glad to meet an interesting and successful person who is an inspiration especially to students who are preparing themselves to become one like him.
